This is a Special Limited Edition Candy Cane Christmas Dress made for American Girl Dolls designed by Bbeauty Designs.

Dress:
This dress is made with a lot of details to show our loving care in designing something unique for the holidays. At the top of the dress is a nude mesh which is a double layered (self-lined) so that it can be finished delicately to form the top structure of the dress. We've matched the mesh as closely as possible to the doll's cloth material so that it is seemingly invisible against it. The effect is to make the doll look as if she is wearing a strapless dress but that it's held up appropriately. It is then attached to a short peplum dress portion made out of red and white sequins. Note that in order to get the proper proportion of the stripes we wanted, each stripe was individually cut and attached together to form the striped material. We did this because human sized striped material in sequins was both not available but also not the right proportion for a doll. The sequinned portion has a sweetheart neckline at the top. It has a bridal satin deep red bow at the waist which has a band that is stitched up and over the shoulder to represent a "present" and then two hanging bow tails. The bow also wraps around the waist mimicking how bows tie around a package. Under the sequin peplum is a three tiered layer of red tulle on top of an underskirt in deep red satin. Pictured but not really shown is that we put one of our white petticoats underneath to give it a more dramatic volume. You do not need to have the petticoat there, it will still stand out but we love a little "extra" poof. Petticoat can be purchased separately in our shop.
