This beautiful doll was made as an artistic collaboration between Bbeauty Dolls and @DollMakersNotebook and is one of a kind.  This doll is made from a previously loved American Girl doll and repurposed to be loved once again.  
 
The Head:
 
The head is handpainted by @dollmakersnotebook featuring a teal, turquoise, and gold Day of the Dead motif.  It has a scull like appearance with turquoise around the eyes, flower and shaped motifs.  The mouth has turquoise lipstick with scars coming out on each side and chin and forehead artistry.  The background of the face has been painted a smokey white to mimic the way make-up looks on a human face.  The face has been sealed with matte sealer to retain it's artistry.  The ears and neck are not painted.
 
The hair is our Gretyl wig in black which features two long braids which cross over the head.  Yellow florals have been inserted into the front braids to form a yellow rose crown.  The bangs of this wig have been side swept and sprayed in place to open for the artistry on the forehead facepaint.  
 
At the ears, handcrafted earrings in gold filagree have been accented with yellow rhinestones and hang from American Girl sized posts in the ear.  The earrings are removable and come out of the ear in two pieces.  The post pieces are also gold.
 
Body:
 
The dress is inspired by ruffled dresses worn in flamenco where large ruffles are at the bottom, often with a train and a ruffle at the neck.  We found a printed turquoise cotton with gold rose motifs to be a nice match with the facial painting.  We then added gold tiny tassel trim around the skirting and at the top ruffle as a finishing touch.  Dress snaps at the back.  The dress is a one piece dress with a bodice facing out of the same fabric in the inside.  All seams are professionally finished and serged on the inside.  All ruffles have been individually hemmed.
 
Under her dress, she is wearing gold sandals to match her color scheme.
