This beautiful 1780's Historical Doll Dress is made from 100% cotton print. It has an almost eggplant purple background with burgundy, light pink, and bluish tone flowers and green leaf and vining on top. The back of the dress curves over the doll's back with several princess seams creating beautiful lines at the back. The dress has long straight sleeves which are hemmed at the wrist. The bodice is lined with the same fabric and hand stitched around the edges to create a fully finished inside. The bodice is attached to an overskirt which pleats into the waist about 3/4 around. This is to reveal a good part of the underskirt. The underskirt has twill waist ties in white in which you tie one side around the waist from back to front and the other from front to back overlapping (not tied into a bow at the sides). This forms "pocket holes" so if you have pocket panniers or separate pockets the doll can reach or carry things. The underskirt has a full ruffle that goes around the entire underskirt (front and back) and is hemmed. Once the bodice with overdrape is put over the underskirt, it snaps with small snaps at the front and has a matching ribbon bow at the top. The neck-kerchief (also included) is a separate piece which tucks under the bodice and drapes over the shoulder. It is made from a very sheer white cotton and has a hemmed ruffle around the base.
