Restringing doesn’t have to be overly complicated, it’s already daunting when you are trying to take apart a doll or put one back together.  Elastic can be slippery and it can be hard to get into tiny areas to thread it through.
This tool measures 5” long and in the attractive rainbow that our eye tool comes in.  Tough and won’t bend.
The tool comes with a black rubber stopper at the end to store when not in use.  To use, remove the black rubber tip to reveal a curved end with tiny grips.  This is the clamp you will use to grip your elastic.  At the other end near the circles for your fingers is the adjustment area where you can open the tool and then close it to clamp your elastic.  Once you have your elastic clamped down you can use the tool to feed your elastic through the arms, legs, and neck openings as an extension of your hand to get elastic through the limb openings to the other side without losing a stronghold on your elastic.  Once you feed the elastic through to the other side you can release the clamp and work on restringing other areas.
You can also use this tool to remove tension cups from inside 18” doll limbs and pull them out the arm and leg holes. Simply heat the limb using boiling water so that the vinyl is soft, tip the limb upside down so that the tension cup falls towards the opening and insert your tool to grab the side or edge of the tension cup (with the gripper open), clamp down and pull the tension cup out of the leg opening.  You can also use this tool to reinsert the cup back into the leg once you’ve restrung it.  
The best thing about the gripper is the tight hold that is far better than a pair of tweezers.  Tweezers can tend to lose their hold or bend near the ends over time making elastics and cups slip out when you apply force to get them where you need to go.  With this tool you don’t even need to keep pressure to keep hold, relaxing your hands as you fix your doll.
