This is for a reproduction of Patti Playpal's the 1960's outfit featured in an Ideal catalog for dress options.  It consisted of a cotton print dress with green stripes and floral vertical flowers with a pointed print cotton collar. The pinafore was made from white cotton and had a very short empire style bodice at the chest level with the skirt portion gathered at the bodice and decorated in multi-colored rick-rack rows just above the hem. 
 
The underdress is made from a vintage inspired striped green and pink floral print which is very similar to the original but not exact (originally the colors released were a pink stripe and yellow stripe).  The sleeves are a puffed sleeve with no lace at the bottom and has a cotton double sided pointed collar at the base of the neck. This dress can be worn with the pinafore as shown, it can be worn without the pinafore, it can be worn without the pinafore with an added petticoat to make it super full and fluffy (additional piece in our collection), and it can be interchanged with other pinafores in our collection to change the looks.  We've designed all our Patti Playpal pieces in our collection to interchange with each other so there are endless mix and match combinations as you collect all the dress sets.
 
The dress has a 2.5" deep hem done with an invisible hem stitch and an approximately 9" long skirt to hit at the thigh, the bodice is self lined and the puffed sleeves have elastic at the bottom. All seams are serged and finished professionally. The dress snaps in back with 5 snaps that are sewn to be invisible once closed.  The original had square snaps however we have used modern snaps for closure.  
 
The white pinafore snaps at the back at the top only and is constructed with the short banded bodice which hits at the bust line and then has the skirt piece gathered high where the bodice ends.  It features one right hand pocket and then four rows of baby rick rack following the original dress which goes yellow, pink, pink, yellow.  Original pinafores had button closures, but we chose snaps to give it an invisible closure look just like the dress. 
 
Note on the pocket.  Original Patti Playpal dresses had "Patti Playpal" embroidered or printed on the pocket.  Patti Playpal is a trademark name and so to abide by copyright laws we cannot put the "Patti Playpal" words onto the pocket.  Our pocket is blank to avoid any copyright issues and to avoid any confusion between our reproductions and the original collectible pieces.
 
This dress set is part of the Patti Playpal Reproduction Wardrobe Series by Bbeauty Dolls and has been created as a tribute to the original outfits that debuted from 1959-1961 for the Patti Playpal Dolls. This dress set is not an original but modeled after the original.
 
Dresses will fit Patti Playpal herself and any Companion Dolls that have the same body measurements.  Thinner Companion Dolls may still be able to wear the collection as most pinafores tie at the waist and are loose fitting.
